Do you think this is appropriate?
We have already registered and the lady from the place where we registered told us we should definitely add more things because it looks very bare (we probably have 10 things on there and 60 people coming so yeah it's bare). Well, me and my Fiance did everything backwards - we had our children first! Is it appropriate to put kid items on the registry? I don't mean toys but bedding, lighting, etc.. items.
I see that some put "don't make it all with kiddie stuff" - this isn't what I meant. I just meant a few minor things that would be for my children. Like a new bed set. I wouldn't put bath toys, or legos, or anything like that. Thanks for all the advice and no, I have not been putting thumbs down - I respect everyone's opinion even if I don't agree with it.
Oh... and to 667 Mom - I'm not sure I understand what you mean by What do you need? And I don't understand the continuing line of question marks?
As one poster said, I don't see a problem in your children choosing some things to place on the registry. But, I wouldn't overload your registry with things that are obviously for your children.
I would try to choose items that your children could also use like board games, DVDs, and other things that you could share with your children.
Also, since it sounds like you guys have been together for awhile, why not use your registry to purchase NEW stuff, like towels, linens (even for your kids), new cookware, or even a nice new set of china to use when guests come over.
You could also try registering for gift cards as well and have your wedding party "spread the word" that you are saving money for the future and that that would be the best gift. The possibilities are endless.
I think that you can place whatever you want on your registry, but I would try to avoid making it look like a birthday present list for your children.
