Can i trust toy mountain to give the kids that need toys?

hi, in the mall i saw a donation box for toys that children need
it said salvation army and ctv on the box.
so my friends told me that i should just give the toys to her and she'll bring it to the place she volunteers at but i cannot make a decision to save my life. She also said toy mountain was "evil"
i just need to know if i donate the toys, it will go to the kids for Christmas.
