What kinds of toys and activities are appropriate for a 5 month old?
I feel like I'm not very good at entertaining/interacting with my little one! I have a swing, and a few toys, but these get old after awhile. sometimes we just lay and play/talk/sing/read books, sometimes she exercises and reaches for things in her play yard, we go on walks, go to the store...etc., but I feel like I run out of things to do. Any ideas?
It can get hard day after day trying to come up with ways to pass the time and entertain your little one! Once your baby sits by themselves that's a big step (don't know if yours is or not) but at 5 months my son was, and we have a very hyperactive dog, so she just ran around him in circles all day and he would laugh 
And I always have music on in the house, so we too would sing and read books a lot. We also had an exersaucer (if you have the money to spend it's a good buy) so he could keep occupied while I was in the kitchen and we would move it all over the house. I'd just keep doing what your doing... sounds like you're doing a great job. Switching rooms periodically makes a big difference too! Good luck!
