Want A Fast Remote Control Boat – Go Nitro

Who says kid’s toys are for kids? It’s a fact that lots of adults like to play with adult versions of kid’s toys. Radio controlled boats are not exception to this but the nitro versions are definitely adult toys. Nitro RC Boats are a lot different from the little boats many of us played with when we were children.

Nitro remote control boats are remote control boats powered by nitrous fuel. Yup, this is the same stuff that is used in drag racing. These nitro radio controlled boats can be very expensive and are somewhat complicated to maintain. The nitro remote control boats tend to be faster than even gas powered boats but are generally not as large.

Once you’ve put your radio controlled boat in the water and participating in your first race you’ll definitely feel like it was not a waste of time getting into RC boats. This isn’t a sport or hobby for the weak or faint of heart. Maneuvering a nitro radio controlled boat that approach speeds of 70 + miles per hours is not an easy task to do. Not having a cockpit view like in video games makes controlling an rc boat in a race a special art.

You have to keep an eye on your boat and and where it is on the racecourse. Not to mention whatever else may be around your boat. In races, everyone racing nitro RC boats or boats of any kind have to be very aware of their surroundings. Just because nitro boats are small does not mean that they cannot dangerous.

Before racing the boat there are some other things that should be considered. Fuel handling procedures have to be followed so that the danger of a fire or explosion is avoided. That is a very bad thing, especially when nitrous fuel is involved. Gasoline can be dangerous but nitrous fuel can burn quicker and hotter. Gas is a the main fuel for racing and nitrous is added to boost its volatility and create power, no wonder it is more dangerous.

Improper handling of the fuel during any stage whether it be storage, fueling, or usage can be dangerous. These warnings are not meant to discourage you from using nitrous fuel, it is only a request that you pay attention, use your common sense and be careful around flammable materials. It is people who ignore these guidelines when handling nitrous fuel the normally end up getting hurt.

Racing nitro remote control boats can be a lot of fun though. Racing can be great but just driving your boat on the lake for fun is a good time. For those that can’t get out on the open seas, radio control boats provide a great substitute. I use the term monster quite literally the higher end models are capable of immense performance and can be up to four feet long.

There is no doubt that racing nitro RC boats can be a great pastime or sport. But please remember to play safe and follow all the safety tips. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. No more lectures, its time for you to take your radio controlled boat out and have some fun.
