Japanese robots...?
Yahoo wants me to read about the Japanese building a robot that has facial expressions...big deal. Here's what I gleaned out of the article.
1. They programmed it to understand English commands and not Japanese...why do you think they did that ? (pretty obvious in my book) The Japanese know that only America would develop a market for this currently useless "toy".
2. It's programmed to frown "sic" in association with the words president, Bush, Iraq, war, etc. etc. That's seems pretty politically hypocritical given the programming consideration above and if it is a robot for the future, hopefully those points of discussion will be things of the past and therefore a waste of programming space.

Would you have a robot in your home or trust one in your daily activities as you trust a human ?
Robots will be like TV's, phones, dishwashers, stoves, frigs, ovens, micro wave ovens, washing machines, dryers, roomba's, computers, etc. We may not need one but we will HAVE to have one.
I want the robots to look like people. Not those bug eyed latex machines we see on Yahoo video.
I am going to order mine to look like Amanda Bines.
Hoo wee, I am going to enjoy going home every night.
