How do I keep my Papillon from bringing me dead bugs?
My dog is very talented at catching bugs. It's fun watching her and she has a wonderful time catching them, and it keeps her entertained. But there is one downside. Every time she catches something she kills it and brings it to me. It's cute when she like kills a toy mouse, but generally by the time she brings her kill over it's guts are spilling out. Any ideas on how to get her to keep her prey?
Don't give her attention when she brings you dead bugs. Don't let her see you cleaning them up, either, as she'll view this as attention. When she realizes that killing bugs doesn't get her brownie points, she should stop.
