May 2010 Is Expected Date For Skate 3 Release
Before Skate came along, the skating game genre was really dominated by the Tony Hawk games. However, EA dominated the skating genre with the release of their game, Skate, which uses analog controls. When they released their second game, Skate 2, they gained even more of the skating genre market, but now with Skate 3, will they manage to hold on?
EA have unveiled some video game news today that Skate 3 is currently in development for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 with an expected release date of May 2010.
Not a huge amount was released about what new features the game would have, simply that Skate 3 will be a more team focused game. These new co-op features will give you the ability to create an ultimate skating crew with other gamers, either online or offline. Once your team is built, youll be able to take part in group events and special career challenges.
Some of the current features are also on the list for improvements, Hall of Meat and Create are just two announced by EA. Not to mention a new training feature called skate.School which will allow you to train before you play with the pros.
Despite these new features and feature improvements, will the game be able to hold up against the rivals? Ever since that release of the original Skate game, EA has controlled the market, but this might be about to change with the new Tony Hawk: RIDE game. This new Hawk game has changed the way we play skating games because it comes with a Wii Balance Board style controller, unlike any other skating game. I wonder that if the Tony Hawk skateboard controller proves to work well, whether EA will suffer as Skate 3 only seems to improve features, not include anything drastically new.
In the current economic troubles, many people decide to not buy video games as much and then sell them after they have with them if they are not worth playing again, I think Skate 3 maybe one of these games.
The only thing I can really say for sure is that I'm going to want to read some game reviews before I fork out the cash for Skate 3, that is unless they announce some features that could top other games.
